This class is perfect for the beginner painter or anyone who’s simply curious about what canvas painting is all about! Interested in learning more about acrylics and painting techniques? The Wild Goose Studio is here to guide you every step of the way!

In this 2 hour class, we’ll walk through the basics of acrylic painting, explore brush techniques, color blending, and layering, and discuss how to plan and bring your own creative vision to life on canvas. Everything you need is included—just bring a smile (and maybe an apron)!

You’ll leave class with a beautiful finished painting, a solid understanding of the fundamentals, and the confidence to keep creating on your own.

This class is designed for those new to painting or looking for a fun and relaxing creative experience. Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before or you just want a fresh creative outlet with friends, this is the perfect place to start!

We’ll be completing a step-by-step guided painting as we explore color, composition, and simple brush techniques. You’ll have everything you need—paints, brushes, canvas, and inspiration—ready and waiting when you arrive.

Everything is prepped ahead of time, so there’s no setup or cleanup stress for you—just paint and enjoy!

FAQ

What will I be doing in class?
Besides having a wonderful time, you’ll learn basic brushwork, color mixing, and layering techniques as you paint your own 11x14 canvas masterpiece to take home the same day.

Do I need any painting experience?
Not at all! This class is designed for absolute beginners. If you’ve painted before, great—you can still pick up new tips and tricks along the way.

What will we learn?
You’ll learn the essentials of acrylic painting, including blending, brush control, and layering for depth. Depending on the theme, we may explore special techniques like texture work, dry brushing, or palette knife painting. And of course—you’re always welcome to make it your own and add your personal flair!

What do I need to bring?
Nothing but yourself! All supplies are provided—canvas, paints, brushes, water cups, and aprons. If you’re a messy painter, feel free to wear paint-friendly clothes. And don’t forget your phone—we love seeing your finished masterpieces in their home environment!

What ages can join?
Our classes are great for most ages—from teens to adults! If you think a younger child might not be ready for a full-length class, we also will be offering Kid-Specific classes.

What will I bring home?
By the end of class, you’ll have a completed painting ready to display, plus the skills, memories, and confidence to keep creating.

Registration is a Must:
To secure your spot in this class, registration is required. Please note that each session will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants, so don't wait too long to sign up!

Cancellation Policy
Life happens, we get that! If you won’t be able to attend the class you signed up for, call the studio for options for getting credit for another class. Unfortunately, we cannot provide credit for a no call no show, and all changes must be submitted 48 hours prior to the class date.

Tardiness Policy
There are a lot of steps involved the process of canvas painting; for that reason, we are unable to catch up students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to their class. Tardy students are not eligible to move their class to a later date.
